BBQ Pineapple Meatballs in an Air Fryer
Sweet, smoky, and impossible to stop eating.
Things that go into it
One bag of frozen meatballs (about 24–32 ounces)
1½ cups of fresh pineapple chunks (or canned, well-drained)
¾ to 1 cup of BBQ sauce
1 to 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (optional, for more sweetness)
Add-ons that are not required:
A splash of soy sauce
A little bit of red pepper flakes
First, cook the meatballs.
Put the frozen meatballs in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook for 8 to 10 minutes at 380°F (193°C), shaking the pan halfway through.
They should be hot all the way through and starting to turn brown.
▶️Step 2:
Put in the pineapple and sauce
Add the pineapple pieces right to the basket after the meatballs are hot.
Put the BBQ sauce on top of everything. Add a little brown sugar if you want it to be sweeter and stickier.
Gently toss to coat; don’t worry if it looks saucy; it will thicken up nicely.
▶️Step 3:
Fry in the air again
Go back to the air fryer and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
To make sure the sauce caramelizes evenly, shake or stir it once or twice.
You want meatballs that are shiny and sticky with edges that are a little brown.
▶️Step 4:
Let it get thicker
After cooking, let them sit for three to four minutes. When it cools down a little, the sauce will stick even more.
