Old-Fashioned Puff Pastry Custard Slices 😋

Serves: 6

✅Ingredients:

500 g puff pastry sheets

600 g vanilla custard

250 g heavy cream

80 g powdered sugar

5 ml vanilla extract

1 egg (for egg wash)

Extra powdered sugar for dusting

✅Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Cut the puff pastry into equal rectangles and place on a lined baking tray.
  2. Brush with egg wash and bake for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden brown. Allow to cool completely.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the custard, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Slice each pastry rectangle in half carefully.
  5. Pipe or spread the custard filling generously onto the bottom half of the pastry.
  6. Place the top pastry layer over the filling and dust heavily with powdered sugar.
  7. Chill slightly before serving for the perfect creamy texture.
