Oven Baked 3-Ingredient Crispy Potato Waffles

These oven baked 3-ingredient crispy potato waffles are the kind of easy little side dish or party snack that disappears fast. They turn simple potatoes into golden, crunchy bites with those fun waffle ridges that get extra crisp in the oven, and they are especially handy when you want something budget-friendly, kid-friendly, and a little more special than plain roasted potatoes.

Serve these potato waffles alongside burgers, grilled chicken, meatloaf, or sandwiches, or set them out with ketchup, ranch, sour cream, or a simple garlic aioli for dipping. They also make a fun addition to breakfast-for-dinner with eggs and fruit, and for parties I like to pile them onto a platter while they are still warm so everyone can grab a few as a snack.

Oven Baked 3-Ingredient Crispy Potato Waffles

Servings: 4

Ingredients

4 cups frozen waffle-cut potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

2. Place the frozen waffle-cut potatoes in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with seasoned salt. Toss until the potatoes are evenly coated.

Spread the potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not overlapping so the edges can crisp well.

4. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip each piece and return the pan to the oven.

5. Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are deeply golden and very crisp around the edges.6. Serve hot right away, with your favorite dipping sauce if you like.

Variations & Tips

Cheesy Version: Sprinkle the hot potato waffles with a little grated Parmesan as soon as they come out of the oven. The heat helps it melt slightly and adds a savory finish that older kids and adults really enjoy.

Milder for Picky Eaters: If your family prefers very simple flavors, use plain salt instead of seasoned salt. You still get all that wonderful crunch without any stronger spice blend flavors.

Extra Crisp Tip: Do not thaw the potatoes before baking, and give them space on the pan. Overcrowding traps steam, and that is the easiest way to lose those crunchy edges everyone loves.

Spicy Version: Add a pinch of paprika or cayenne to the seasoning before tossing for a little heat. This is a nice option when serving them with burgers or barbecue sandwiches.
