Stir-Fried Chicken and Cabbage

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (thinly sliced)
3 cups green cabbage (shredded)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 small onion (sliced)
1 carrot (julienned, optional)

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional but recommended)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
