  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Tortellini

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package directions until tender.
  • Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Brown the Beef

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
  • Add the diced onion and cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Drain any excess grease and set the beef mixture aside.

Step 3: Make the Provolone Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  • Slowly pour in the milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly until smooth.

  • Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.

Step 4: Add the Cheese

  • Reduce the heat to low.
  • Gradually stir in the provolone cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  • Continue stirring until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is creamy.

Step 5: Combine Everything

  • Return the cooked beef mixture to the skillet.
  • Add the cooked tortellini.
  • Gently toss until everything is coated in the rich provolone sauce.

Step 6: Serve

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
  • Serve hot with garlic bread or a fresh green salad.

Tips

✔ Use shaved steak instead of ground beef for a more authentic cheesesteak flavor.
✔ Add sautéed mushrooms or green peppers for extra texture.
