Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1½ pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Optional Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
  3. Add the steak cubes in a single layer without overcrowding the pan. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned. Cook in batches if necessary.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the Worcestershire sauce and toss the steak bites in the garlic butter until evenly coated.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender.
  2. Drain well and return to the pot.
  3. Add butter, warm milk, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Tips

  • Sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip all work well.
  • Avoid overcrowding the skillet to get a perfect sear.
  • For medium-rare, cook the steak just until the internal temperature reaches 130–135°F (54–57°C).
  • Garnish with extra parsley or grated Parmesan for even more flavor.
