Lemon Garlic Butter Chicken with Creamy Parmesan Pasta

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

For the Creamy Parmesan Pasta:

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup pasta cooking water (optional, to loosen sauce)

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

2. Prepare the Chicken

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add chicken and cook about 5–6 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked.
  4. Remove chicken from the pan and slice into strips.

3. Make the Lemon Garlic Butter

  1. In the same pan, melt butter.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest.
  4. Return sliced chicken to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.

4. Make the Creamy Parmesan Sauce

  1. In another pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Add cooked pasta and toss until coated.
  6. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water.

5. Assemble the Dish

  1. Plate the creamy Parmesan pasta.
  2. Top with sliced lemon garlic butter chicken.
  3. Drizzle extra sauce from the pan over the chicken.
  4. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
