Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

Nothing beats a slow-simmered, hearty beef stew just like grandma used to make ❤️

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 🥩 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into chunks
  • 🧂 Salt & black pepper
  • 🌾 3 tbsp flour
  • 🫒 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 🧅 1 large onion, chopped
  • 🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 🥕 3 carrots, sliced
  • 🥔 4 potatoes, cubed
  • 🌿 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 🍅 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 🍲 4 cups beef broth
  • 🌿 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 🌿 2 bay leaves
  • 🌱 Fresh parsley for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1️⃣ Season the beef 🥩 with salt & pepper, then coat lightly in flour 🌾.

2️⃣ Heat olive oil 🫒 in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the beef on all sides until golden 🤎. Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ In the same pot, sauté onion 🧅 and garlic 🧄 until fragrant.

4️⃣ Stir in tomato paste 🍅 and cook for 1 minute.

5️⃣ Return beef to the pot and add carrots 🥕, potatoes 🥔, celery 🌿, thyme, and bay leaves.

6️⃣ Pour in beef broth 🍲 until everything is covered.

7️⃣ Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5–2 hours ⏳ until beef is fork-tender.

8️⃣ Remove bay leaves, garnish with fresh parsley 🌱, and serve warm ❤️
