Sizzling Scallops with Zesty Lime Cilantro Sauce

▶️Ingredients:

1 lb sea scallops, patted dry

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1 tablespoon lime zest

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

▶️Directions:

Pat the scallops completely dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, carefully add the scallops in a single layer.

Sear the scallops for about 2 minutes per side, or until a golden crust forms. Avoid overcrowding the pan for best results.

Remove the scallops from the skillet and set aside on a warm plate.

In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Stir in lime juice and lime zest, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.

Return scallops to the skillet, spooning the lime butter sauce over them.

Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh chopped cilantro before serving.
